Clearway Technology Distribution Achieves Dell Outlet Platinum Status, Adds VergeOS Infrastructure Software for VARs

A 20-year Dell channel team pairs Platinum-tier Dell hardware with virtualization software from VergeIO, a fellow Michigan company
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Clearway Technology Distribution, a technology distributor supplying enterprise infrastructure to value-added resellers (VARs) and systems integrators nationwide, today announced it can offer partners a more complete infrastructure stack: Dell PowerEdge servers through its Platinum status in Dell's Outlet Authorized Distributor Program, paired with VergeOS virtualization software through a new distribution partnership with VergeIO. Platinum is the highest tier Dell grants to outlet distribution partners, giving Clearway direct access to Dell's enterprise inventory and placing the company among a limited number of distributors nationally authorized at this level. The VergeIO partnership adds a virtualization layer VARs can run on that hardware from day one, sourced through the same distributor.
"Platinum isn't a status Dell hands out casually — it's earned through sustained volume, quality, and performance," said Ryan Devereaux, President of Clearway Technology Distribution. "For any partner who has asked about our authorization level, this is Dell's own confirmation: Clearway is a fully authorized Dell channel, and every system we ship carries Dell's own warranty and support behind it."
Deep Dell Experience, Available From Day One
Clearway launched on February 17, 2026, but its team did not start from scratch. The core group has worked together for over 20 years, most recently as the Dell distribution division of an industry-leading VAR, where they built the processes, Dell relationships, and channel credentials that now operate under the Clearway name. That continuity is why Clearway moves millions of dollars in Dell orders every month, carries millions of dollars in on-hand PowerEdge inventory, and was able to add VergeOS to its lineup within months of launching.
Solving a Growing Problem for VARs
VARs across the technology channel are increasingly caught between what enterprise customers need and what traditional distribution and licensing can deliver. Enterprise hardware demand has surged industry-wide, driven in part by the AI boom, straining allocation and stretching lead times across the channel. Pricing can also shift between quote and close, sometimes pushing a deal outside the budget a customer already approved. Standard distributor pricing leaves little room to protect margin on competitive deals, and sourcing virtualization software often means managing yet another vendor relationship on top of the hardware itself. Clearway was built to close the hardware side of that gap: as a distributor — not a reseller — it supplies VARs with Dell-warrantied hardware they can quote and ship quickly, price to fit the budget a customer actually has, and configure to the job, all without Clearway competing for the end-customer relationship. Every order is reported back to Dell through standard sales-out channels, so the account is credited there just as it would be through any other authorized distributor. Adding VergeOS extends that same idea to virtualization, letting VARs source the operating layer alongside the hardware from a single distributor instead of piecing the two together themselves. Clearway also buys back excess, canceled, and non-returnable Dell and HPE inventory from VARs, giving partners a way to recover cash on stranded hardware in addition to sourcing new deployments.
What Platinum Status Means for Partners
As a Dell Outlet Platinum Distributor, Clearway has direct access to Dell enterprise inventory through an official Dell program — not a third-party or gray-market source — with every system backed by Dell's own warranty and support. Each system is tested, staged, and validated in-house before it ships. Clearway typically ships in-stock configurations within the week, often at a significant discount to original list pricing, giving VARs another fast, flexible way to put Dell hardware to work for their customers. Clearway operates strictly as a distributor: it does not sell directly to end customers, does not compete with VARs for their client relationships, and does not require deal registration to quote or fulfill an order.
Adding VergeOS to the Stack
VergeOS is a private cloud operating system that runs a customer's virtualized infrastructure — compute, storage, networking, and data protection — on a single software platform, on standard servers. VergeOS gives VARs a way to replace VMware and traditional HCI with a single piece of infrastructure software that runs on the servers customers already own, which aligns well with Clearway's go-to-market: Dell PowerEdge hardware, integration and staging services, and a channel-only model built around VARs.
Clearway's sales team is seeing the pain across the hypervisor and HCI marketplace firsthand, as organizations reassess the platforms they've relied on for years. Through its new distribution partnership with VergeIO, Clearway can now pair VergeOS directly with the Dell PowerEdge hardware it already supplies, giving VARs a clean path through the HCI refreshes they're dealing with and a way to source both the hardware and the virtualization layer running on it from one distribution partner.
"VergeIO is disrupting the hypervisor market, and Clearway is disrupting how VARs source compute infrastructure," said Devereaux. "Put them together and partners have a real answer for every customer stuck on an HCI refresh they can't justify. Two Michigan companies, one clear path forward."
