Faith Church Leads Ongoing Relief After Devastating St. Louis Tornado which destroyed many homes May 16.

St. Louis, MO In the wake of the catastrophic tornado that swept through the St. Louis area on May 16, Faith Church and Pastor David Crank are mobilizing an extensive disaster recovery effort, meeting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in real-time. The mile-wide storm left a trail of devastation—entire neighborhoods leveled, homes destroyed, and families displaced—but amidst the rubble, Faith Church is rising to bring hope, healing, and help.

Within hours of the storm clearing, Faith Church teams hit the ground with chainsaws in hand, clearing debris, removing downed trees, and serving families in the hardest-hit areas. What began as a small group response has grown into a large-scale outreach across the region, powered by volunteers, partner churches, and donors from across the country.

“We’ve seen the devastation with our own eyes: families digging through rubble, homes reduced to splinters, memories scattered across the streets,” said Pastor David Crank. “But in the middle of all that heartbreak, one thing has become clear: the Church is here, and we’re not leaving.

Faith Church’s response includes:

  • Purchasing a home for a displaced family

  • Housing hundreds of people in hotels

  • Distributing tons of food and critical supplies

  • Delivering generators, clean water, and basic necessities

  • Providing transportation and support to women attending the I Am Woman Conference

  • Offering emotional and spiritual support through prayer and one-on-one care

They also received support from national partners like Bishop T.D. Jakes and The Potter’s House (Dallas, TX), Pastor Keith Craft and Elevate Life Church (Frisco, TX), and boots-on-the-ground assistance from Convoy of Hope.

Faith Church is now calling on the greater community to continue this momentum and help meet the enormous need.

Here’s how to get involved:

  • Volunteer for cleanup and distribution efforts

  • Donate food, water, and essential supplies

  • Give financially to fuel ongoing relief and rebuilding work

“This isn’t about a spotlight or a stage,” said Pastor Crank. “This is about showing up with love, generosity, and a whole lot of faith. We’re rebuilding homes, but more importantly, we’re rebuilding hope—one yard, one prayer, one family at a time.”
