Annual back-to-school initiative fulfills school-specific supply needs for students at four Tulsa and Union Public Schools

TULSA, OK, August 29, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Graves McLain Injury Lawyers marked more than a decade of supporting local students this back-to-school season by providing nearly 3,000 customized school supply packs to four high-need schools in the Tulsa and Union Public School systems. The supplies were purchased based on wish lists provided directly by each school and delivered in time for the start of the new school year.

The firm's annual back-to-school initiative dates back to 2016, when it first launched its Free Backpack Program to provide new backpacks and school supplies to Tulsa Public Schools students. Since then, the effort has continued to evolve based on the changing needs of local students, schools, and families.

This year, Graves McLain took a more targeted approach. Through conversations with local school representatives and participation in a community back-to-school coalition established by the Schusterman Family Foundation, the firm gained greater insight into gaps in existing school supply assistance. That information helped identify schools with significant student need, including high free and reduced lunch rates, that were not already receiving substantial school supply assistance through other community programs.

Graves McLain focused its 2026 back-to-school initiative on Central High School, Will Rogers High School, Union 6 th/7th Grade Center, and Union Freshman Academy by fulfilling specific school supply wish lists for students at each campus. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, supplies were purchased according to each school's specific requests. In total, the 2,850 packs contained more than 24,000 school supply items, including pencils, pens, composition notebooks, highlighters, notebook paper, folders, earbuds, glue sticks, markers, scissors, correction tape, and other classroom essentials.

The effort provided 1,100 supply packs for Union 6th/7th Grade Center, 500 for Union Freshman Academy, 350 for Central High School and 900 for Will Rogers High School. The completed packs were hand-delivered directly to the schools in time for the new school year, where Graves McLain partner Chad McLain met with faculty and staff to thank them for their work and reinforce the community's support for local educators and our youth.

Graves McLain team members helped with assembly, along with participants from Gatesway Foundation. Through Gatesway's vocational training and enrichment programs, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities helped assemble thousands of the supply packs. Graves McLain also made a donation to Gatesway in support of its programs, allowing the firm's back-to-school initiative to make an even greater impact within the community.
