OTTAWA, ON, Nov. 3, 2026 /CNW/ -- On November 4, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, will deliver remarks at a tribute event in honour of Marc Garneau at the Canada's Centre for Geography and Exploration in Ottawa.

The tribute will take place during Geographica, the 97th annual Royal Canadian Geographical Society Gala. Several current and retired Canadian astronauts, members of the Garneau family and former colleagues of Marc Garneau will also participate.

Access to the tribute is limited to invited guests. Media must RSVP to attend on site, where they will have access to a reserved room with Wi-Fi and a live feed of the tribute. Brief interview opportunities with astronauts and invited guests may be available prior to the event during guest arrivals, time permitting. The event will also be livestreamed by CPAC.
