Springs Rejuvenation Reviews Published Muse Cell Evidence to Inform Its Physician-Supervised Protocols

Springs Rejuvenation, a physician-supervised regenerative wellness practice operating five United States clinics across New York City, Los Angeles, Austin, Miami, and Atlanta, has announced that its clinical team has reviewed and incorporated findings from published muse cell clinical trials and intravenous mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) safety data into the framework underlying its stem cells and exosomes-based protocols. The review, led by Dr. Charles Pereyra, MD, reflects the practice's approach of grounding its offerings in peer-reviewed science while applying appropriately hedged language about what the published literature does and does not yet demonstrate.

What the Published Literature Shows - and Where Gaps Remain

The body of muse cell evidence reviewed by the Springs Rejuvenation team centers on three key studies. The first is a first-in-human Japanese safety study published by Noda and colleagues in 2020, which examined the tolerability of Multilineage-differentiating Stress Enduring (Muse) cells administered intravenously in a small human cohort. The study recorded no serious adverse events directly attributed to the cells during the observation period, offering an early signal that intravenous administration may be tolerable at the doses tested. Importantly, however, the study was not designed to demonstrate efficacy, and the authors themselves noted the limitations of drawing broader conclusions from an early-phase safety observation.

The second study, a randomized double-blind Japanese trial by Niizuma and colleagues published in 2023, represented a more rigorous design. The trial incorporated a control arm and blinding procedures, lending additional methodological weight to its safety observations. Nonetheless, the primary endpoints of the Niizuma 2023 trial showed modest or null results on several functional measures, underscoring that muse stem cell research, while scientifically promising, has not yet produced the kind of large-scale efficacy data that would allow definitive conclusions about patient outcomes. The Springs Rejuvenation team has been transparent about this distinction when presenting the science to prospective patients.

Supplementing the Muse-specific literature, the review also drew on a 2009 intravenous MSC safety study by Hare and colleagues, which examined the tolerability profile of bone-marrow-derived MSCs delivered intravenously. That study similarly reported an acceptable short-term safety profile but operated within a similarly constrained scope, and the authors did not characterize the results as establishing a broadly applicable standard of care.

Dr. Pereyra on How the Evidence Shapes the Springs Approach

Dr. Charles Pereyra, MD, a board-certified emergency medicine physician who completed his residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist and holds membership in the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), leads the clinical oversight at Springs Rejuvenation. Dr. Pereyra has authored three papers indexed on PubMed (NPI 1932553) and brings that research orientation to the practice's protocol development.

"The published data from these trials may help support a cautious and informed approach to regenerative protocols - what we are looking at are early safety signals, not proof of a demonstrated outcome, and that distinction matters enormously when speaking with patients," said Dr. Charles Pereyra, MD, of Springs Rejuvenation.

The Springs Rejuvenation team references this investigational cell therapy literature specifically when structuring its Stem 3 Protocol, a physician-supervised procedure that incorporates stem cells and exosomes. Steps within the protocol include minimally invasive delivery methods and, where applicable, 0.9mm micro FUE techniques performed under physician supervision at each of the five US-based clinic locations. All care is administered on-site under direct physician oversight, not delegated remotely.

Framing Regenerative Science Honestly for Patients

One of the more consequential aspects of the Springs Rejuvenation review is its emphasis on what the muse stem cell research does not yet show. Neither the Noda 2020 safety study nor the Niizuma 2023 randomized trial produced data sufficient to describe Muse cells as a proven or universally effective approach. The Springs clinical team uses this framing deliberately, describing the stem cells and exosomes-based protocol as a therapy that may help support certain patient wellness goals, while explicitly declining to characterize outcomes as demonstrated or predictable across individuals.

The five-clinic footprint allows Dr. Pereyra and the Springs Rejuvenation team to maintain consistent, in-person, physician-supervised oversight of each patient's experience, a structural feature the practice views as important given the experimental nature of the underlying science.

Our Stem Cell exosome formula is produced in an FDA approved lab, but is not an FDA approved therapy. It is currently in the experimental stages - all information provided is based on our experience with patients. Results may vary. Consult with a qualified medical professional.
