PMI Chicagoland Chapter Announces Its 2023 Student Scholarship and Community Service Award Winners

The Student Scholarship and Community Service Awards are part of the PMI Chicagoland Chapter's ongoing effort to broaden its reach into the Chicagoland communities. The awards, presented annually, recognize students who have demonstrated their learning in the project management field and non-profit organizations or accredited educational institutions that are committed to making a positive social impact.

CHICAGO, June 6, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- PMI Chicagoland Chapter introduced the winners of its inaugural Student Scholarship and Community Service Awards during the May 2023 chapter meeting.

The Student Scholarship Award recognizes the importance of supporting future project management professionals as they pursue project management-related certifications or educational programs.

  • Ryan Marrs works in project management, volunteers with the Chapter, and is committed to the field. Ryan attained PMI-BA, CAPM, and PMP certifications and is now pursuing his postgraduate degree.
  • Julien Lopez is pursuing his undergraduate degree, is actively engaged with the Chapter, and has shown a strong interest in project management. Julien holds a PMI-CAPM certification and is working towards obtaining additional certifications.

 

The Community Service Award acknowledges the achievements of non-profit organizations or educational institutions for their commitment to education and the community.

  • Big Shoulders Fund won the 2023 Community Service Award for Education. Big Shoulders Fund is an independent charitable organization. They provide scholarships, operational improvements, academic programs, and leadership development to strengthen schools and prepare students for life-long success.
  • Ladies of Virtue (LOV) won the 2023 Community Service Award for Social Good. Ladies of Virtue provides qualified low-income or first-generation high-potential students with a differentiated educational experience, enabling their future college success, employment, and volunteering.
